Places to Visit
We’re on the doorstep of so many beautiful places to go walking and visit in the local area, from the ancient heathland of Ashdown Forest, home of Winnie the Pooh, to the bygone era of steam trains chugging through the stunning countryside on the Bluebell Railway or a visit to Wakehurst Botanical Gardens.
You might like to visit the vibrant towns of Lewes and Tunbridge Wells with their eclectic mix of galleries, artisan shops, bars and restaurants. Maybe an evening concert at Trading Boundaries nearby in Sheffield Park, an opera at famous Glyndboune or a play at Brighton Theatre? Of course there’s also sailing at Ardingly Activity Centre and Brighton Marina, horse racing at Plumpton, riding and trekking on the Ashdown Forest at East View Riding Centre, clay pigeon shooting, or a visit to the chalk cliffs of the South Downs National Park and Sussex Coastal resorts such as Rottingdean village and Eastbourne. There’s just so much to do!
Alternatively, you can just enjoy the peace and quiet of The Nest and its private garden or take a gentle stroll to the nearby woods over the bridge of the babbling brook before eating a delicious dinner at our cosy local freehouse pub, the acclaimed Coach & Horses, all within 2-3 mins walk. Where will you visit and explore when you stay?
