Relax in a peaceful, bright and calm woodland holiday cottage in East Sussex by Ashdown Forest. Beautiful interior design and furnishings with every home comfort and panormanic views to the woods beyond. Luxurious Four Poster king size bed with deep pocket sprung and memory foam combination mattress. Sleeps 4.
Enjoy high quality Egyptian cotton crisp white bed linen, goose down duvets and a selection of firm and soft hypoallergenic pillows along with blankets.
The marble tiled bathroom has a double ended P shaped bath with screen and overhead rainwater shower (good head height), waterfall taps, handheld shower and a heated towel rail. Excellent water pressure. Christy towels, waffle dressing gowns, quality shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, soap and hairdryer provided
The dining/work space with extendable wooden table and chairs easily seats 4-6 guests and there is a cosy electric fireplace with door to the leafy balcony entrance. The lovely sittingroom area has a comfy pull-out double sofa bed providing a deep foam mattress and organic bamboo fibre ultra soft padded topper. The sofa bed is suitable for 2 additional guests. A cot is also available if requested at booking.
French windows maximise the expansive woodland views with velvet curtains and black-out blinds to ensure a good night’s sleep. Overhead LED lighting is on dimmer switches to help set the mood. Practical and stylish oak flooring throughout enhances The Nest decor.
Entertainment
There is free full-fibre WiFi and a Smart 32” TV with over 150 Freesat channels, Netflix/Amazon Prime streaming option, DVD player, Bluetooth mobile phone speaker and a digital radio. You will find a selection of board games, DVDs, magazines, local area maps and a file of recommended walks/places to visit along with some children’s books and a few cuddly toys, including Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore and Piglet!
Amenities
You will find good eaves storage space with lighting for luggage, suitcase stands, a clothes hanging rail, shoe rack and shelving. Ironing board and iron also provided, laundry basket and airers. There is a tall tower oscillating cooling fan with remote control. Convector heaters and electric flame effect fireplace.
Downstairs is a separate well-equipped kitchen including a cooker with double oven, grill and ceramic hob, extractor fan, microwave oven, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, cafetière, toaster, double sink, integrated fridge, freezer and a washer/dryer. There is a breakfast bar with seating for two next to the French windows overlooking the garden and woods.
The Cottage
The characterful weather-boarded Nest, with Winnie the Pooh weather-vane, is approached from the drive via an external wooden staircase to the leafy first-floor treehouse style entrance where you will find a useful rack for those muddy walking boots/wellies.
The Nest is nestled under the canopy of an old pear tree and Scots pine with your own private garden below furnished with dining table and chairs, a tranquil spot where you can relax and listen to the birds and enjoy the woodland views. Do help yourselves to the pears!
There is space for bikes to be stored under the external stairs. Secure parking is available on the drive through automated double gates.
